How do I get to Wentworth?
The easiest way is the train from London Waterloo to Virginia Water — takes around 45 minutes. From the station it's about a 15-minute walk or a short taxi. Trains are regular throughout the day, and it's far less stressful than driving.
Is there parking on site?
There is limited event parking near Wentworth but it fills up fast and traffic on the A30 can be brutal on Sunday. If you drive, book a designated event parking pass in advance. Most locals strongly recommend the train — it drops you almost at the gate.
What's the dress code?
Smart casual throughout — this is Wentworth, after all. There's no strict dress code for general admission, but the hospitality areas and Clubhouse Terrace expect a neat, presentable look. Leave the football shirts at home. Golf shirts and chinos are perfect.
What time do gates open?
Gates typically open at 7:00am each day. First tee times for Rounds 1 and 2 are usually from around 7:30am, so early birds get to see the full field. Sunday's final round starts mid-morning with leaders going out last in the afternoon.
Where are the best spots to watch?
The 18th hole grandstand is unmissable — there's nothing like watching the leaders come up the last on Sunday afternoon. The par-3 2nd and the dog-leg 17th (the famous Burma Road hole) are also brilliant spots to catch drama. Get there early for grandstand seats.
Are there good pubs nearby?
The Pub on the Pond in Virginia Water village is a favourite after a day on the course. The Wheatsheaf at Virginia Water is another solid option. If you're heading back to London, plenty of pubs around Waterloo station for a post-golf debrief.
