FAQs

How do I get to Silverstone?

By train, get to Milton Keynes Central (Avanti from London Euston, about 35 mins) or Northampton, then hop on one of the official Silverstone shuttle buses — they run right to the circuit gates. By car, the A43 and A5 are your main routes, but expect serious race-day queues. Park and ride is strongly recommended. Book parking in advance through Silverstone's official site.

What are the best grandstands for watching the race?

Club Corner is brilliant for overtaking into the complex. Stowe gives you a spectacular braking zone view. Becketts is unbeatable for the high-speed sweeps — genuinely one of the best sightlines in Formula 1. Woodcote is great for the start/finish and pit lane action. If you want the full atmosphere, the Village and Loop grandstands put you right in the thick of the infield.

What should I bring on race day?

Ear defenders or plugs are essential — this is proper F1 noise and it will rattle your chest. Bring a rain layer (it's July, it's England, you know the drill), sunscreen for when it is sunny, plenty of water, and some cash for food stalls. No glass bottles allowed on site. A circuit map and radio scanner to pick up team radio are fan favourites.

Is there camping at Silverstone?

Yes — Silverstone has extensive official campsites for the weekend, ranging from basic to glamping options. Camping passes are separate from grandstand tickets and book out very early. If your seller includes a camping wristband, confirm it is transferable before purchasing.

What time do the gates open on race day?

Gates typically open around 07:00 on race day. The grid walk and pre-race ceremony usually begin mid-morning, with lights out in the early afternoon (typically around 15:00 UK time, but check the official schedule as this varies by year). Allow 90 minutes travel time from Milton Keynes on race day — the queues build from 06:30.

Can I resell my Paddock Club or hospitality ticket?

No — Paddock Club and official hospitality packages issued by Formula One Management or Silverstone Hospitality are non-transferable and are tied to the named holder. Attempting to resell these is against the terms and conditions. Only general grandstand and ground admission tickets can be listed on this exchange.
