FAQs

How do I get to Silverstone?

By car is easiest — Silverstone is just off the A43 between Towcester and Brackley. Postcode NN12 8TN for sat nav. Nearest train stations are Milton Keynes Central or Northampton, both around 20–30 min by taxi. Event shuttle buses sometimes run from Milton Keynes on race day — check the Silverstone website closer to the event.

Is there on-site parking?

Yes — Silverstone has large on-site car parks. Pre-booking parking in advance is strongly recommended as it's cheaper and faster on the day. General parking is typically £10–£20 depending on proximity to the circuit.

What's the difference between General Admission and a Grandstand ticket?

General Admission gives you access to the vast majority of the circuit — you can walk the whole perimeter, find a spot at Stowe, Becketts, Copse or Hangar Straight and soak it all in. Grandstands give you a reserved seat, usually at Woodcote (near the pit straight) or Becketts. For British GT, GA is genuinely great value and lets you move around.

Is there a Pit Lane Walk?

Usually yes — Silverstone often runs Pit Lane Walk sessions for British GT events, typically on Saturday morning before qualifying. These tend to sell out quickly and may be ticketed separately or included in certain packages. Worth grabbing early if you want to get up close to the cars and teams.

What time does the racing start on Sunday?

Typically gates open around 8am with support races from mid-morning. The main British GT feature race on Sunday usually starts early afternoon — around 1pm or 2pm — though the exact timetable is published by British GT closer to the event. Always worth arriving early for the atmosphere.

Are there food and drink options on site?

Plenty — Silverstone has a wide range of food vendors, bars, and hospitality units around the circuit. Prices are circuit-level, so you might want to bring snacks and a refillable water bottle. There's no restriction on bringing your own food in standard GA.
