FAQs
How do I get to Cardiff City Centre for the festival?
Cardiff Central station is the easiest option — it's a 15-minute walk or quick taxi to the festival site. Direct trains run from London Paddington (about 2 hours), Bristol Temple Meads (50 mins), and Swansea (1 hour). Buses from all over Cardiff stop nearby on Central Square.
Is there parking nearby?
Cardiff has several city centre car parks close to the festival — NCP Cardiff City Centre and Cardiff Bay car parks are popular options. That said, the city centre gets very busy on festival weekends, so public transport or cycling is strongly recommended. Cardiff has good bike lanes and public hire bikes too.
What can I expect at the festival?
Hundreds of food and drink stalls from local Welsh producers, international street food vendors, live chef demonstrations, craft beer and gin bars, and a buzzing atmosphere. It's family-friendly with a dedicated kids' food zone. Think street food markets meets artisan produce fair meets foodie heaven.
Are there good pubs or bars near the venue?
Cardiff is brilliant for pre or post-festival drinks. The Botanist on Cardiff Bay is popular, or head to the city centre for Tiny Rebel (great Welsh craft beer), The Dead Canary for cocktails, or the historic Pen & Wig near the Civic Centre. The festival itself usually has excellent craft beer and cider bars on site too.
Is there a dress code?
Absolutely none — come as you are! Comfortable shoes are a must though, as you'll be on your feet exploring stalls all day. Cardiff in early July can be warm but British, so a light jacket is never a bad shout.
What time do the festival gates open?
Typically gates open at 10am on all three days, with the last entry around 7pm and the site closing at 8pm. Chef Theatre sessions run throughout the day with timed slots — popular demos book up fast, so arrive early or pre-book where possible.
