FAQs

How do I get to Chatsworth House?

By car it's just off the B6012 near Beeley — follow A619 from Chesterfield or A6 from Matlock. By train, Chesterfield station is your closest mainline stop (East Midlands Railway from St Pancras, about 2 hrs). Shuttle buses and taxis run to the estate gates. Parking is on-site and included, but Saturday fills up early — aim to arrive before 9am.

What is the dress code?

There's no strict dress code for General Admission — smart-casual country attire is perfectly at home (think Barbour, sturdy boots, a warm layer for September evenings). Ringside Pavilion and Pavilion Plus guests tend to dress up a notch — tailored country wear, blazers, smart dresses. Heels on grass are a brave choice!

What's the difference between Ringside Pavilion and Ringside Pavilion Plus?

Ringside Pavilion (£75) gives you a covered, seated grandstand position right alongside the main arena ring — ideal for watching the Grand Parade, show jumping, and falconry displays in comfort. Ringside Pavilion Plus (£165) adds a hospitality package: drinks on arrival, a hot three-course lunch, dedicated service, and the best sightlines on the whole showground.

What's on at the Fair?

The main ring hosts show jumping, heavy horses, dog agility, falconry and the spectacular Grand Parade. Beyond that there's a craft village, food hall, countryside sports zone (clay shooting, gundog scurry), country clothing and field sports trade stands, and live music in the evenings. Kids will love the terrier racing and ferret shows too.

Is there parking on site?

Yes — there is extensive on-site parking included with your ticket. Follow the event signs from the A619 and A6 approaches. For Ringside Pavilion Plus, dedicated closer parking is usually provided — check your booking confirmation. Coaches and minibuses have a separate drop-off area near the main entrance.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs on leads are welcome throughout the showground — it's a country fair, so four-legged guests are very much part of the atmosphere! Just keep them away from the livestock rings and always clean up after them.
