By train: take East Midlands Railway to Stamford (change at Peterborough, which is ~50 mins from London King's Cross on LNER). From Stamford station it's about a 20-minute walk or a short taxi into the Park. By car: Burghley is just off the B1443 near Stamford — postcode PE9 3JY for sat nav. Car parking is on-site but can fill up fast on Cross Country Day, so arrive early!
Is there parking on site?
Yes, there's extensive on-site parking across the estate — it's included in your ticket or available to purchase. Cross Country Saturday is the busiest day of the week, so aim to arrive before 9am if you want to be settled before the first horse goes. What's the best place to watch the cross country?
The Lake fence is the classic Burghley view — horses either fly it or have a splash, and the atmosphere is incredible. The Lion Bridge complex and the Trout Hatchery are also brilliant spots.
