How do I get to Santa Pod Raceway?
Santa Pod is near Podington, off the A509 between Wellingborough and Rushden. By car is easiest — postcode NN29 7XA for sat-nav. By train, take East Midlands Railway to Wellingborough from St Pancras (~55 mins), then a taxi or pre-arranged shuttle. There's no regular bus service to the venue.
Is there parking on site?
Yes — Santa Pod has large on-site car parks, typically included in or available alongside your ticket. Arrive early on Saturday and Sunday as queues can build up from mid-morning. Camping is also available on site across the weekend.
Can I get into the pits?
Pit Lane Access is a separate add-on (or included in some premium passes). It's absolutely worth it — you can get right up close to the Top Fuel cars, chat to the crews, and see the builds and tyre changes up close. One of the best experiences in UK motorsport.
What classes will be racing?
The FuelTech Motorsport UK British Drag Racing Championship features Top Fuel Dragsters, Pro Modified, Funny Car, Super Pro ET, Pro ET, Top Methanol, and Junior Dragster, plus exhibition runs including Jet Cars. There's something happening on track all day.
Is this suitable for kids and families?
Absolutely — Santa Pod is famously family-friendly. Under-13s are often free with a paying adult (check current Santa Pod policy). Ear defenders are strongly recommended for little ones near the track. The atmosphere is electric but welcoming.
What's the best place to watch from?
The Grandstand gives you a full view of the start line and the first 60 feet — where all the drama of launch happens. The finish line area is great for catching top speed passes. Many fans walk the full length of the quarter mile during quieter moments.
