FAQs

How do I get to Goodwood Motor Circuit?

The circuit is near Chichester in West Sussex. By train, take Southern Rail from London Victoria to Chichester (about 1h 45min), then hop on the dedicated Goodwood Revival shuttle bus from the station — it runs all day and is the easiest option. By car, the A285 and A286 bring you in from Chichester; official car parks are signposted. Arrive early — roads fill up quickly on Friday morning.

Is there a dress code?

Period dress isn't compulsory, but it is absolutely the spirit of the Revival. The vast majority of attendees dress in pre-1966 fashion — think 1950s/60s motoring chic, tweed, headscarves, mechanics' overalls, or a great wiggle dress. It adds enormously to the atmosphere. Smart casual is fine if you'd rather not dress up, but you'll be in the minority!

What time does the circuit open on Friday?

Gates typically open around 7:30am on Friday, with the paddock and pit lane walk available before the first race. The main race programme usually kicks off around 9:00–9:30am. Check the official Goodwood Revival schedule once published for exact session times.

Where are the best spots to watch the racing?

The Lavant Straight Grandstand is fantastic for watching the cars under braking — you really feel the speed. St Mary's gives brilliant views through the sweeping corners. The infield bankings are more relaxed with a great festival atmosphere. The Motor Circuit Paddock access is gold — wandering among the historic machinery up close is unforgettable.

Are there good food and drink options on site?

Yes, the Revival has a superb food offering with proper period-themed vendors, fish and chip stalls, Champagne bars, and traditional picnic areas. Many regulars bring their own hampers — it's very much encouraged. The atmosphere in the picnic areas is as good as the racing.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, there is extensive official parking on the Goodwood Estate, but it must be pre-booked through the official Goodwood Revival website. Parking books up well in advance. The shuttle from Chichester station is often the more relaxed option if you haven't already sorted parking.
