FAQs

Is fancy dress (period dress) compulsory?

Not compulsory, but it's absolutely the spirit of the event. Pre-1966 period dress is encouraged and the vast majority of attendees dress up — think RAF flying suits, 1950s tweed, race overalls, and pillbox hats. You won't feel out of place either way, but you will feel the magic more if you make the effort!

How do I get to Goodwood Motor Circuit?

By train: London Victoria to Chichester (Southern Rail, ~1h 40m), then official Revival shuttle buses run directly to the circuit. By car: the circuit is just off the A285, near Chichester. Car parking is available on-site — book in advance as it sells out. Taxis from Chichester are also plentiful on Revival Sunday.

What time do gates open on Sunday?

Gates typically open around 7:30am on Sunday. Racing begins mid-morning and the final race of the weekend usually completes by around 5:30–6pm. Arrive early to soak up the paddock and the fabulous period cars before racing starts.

What's the difference between General Admission and the Richmond Grandstand?

General Admission gives you roaming access across the circuit — the infield, paddock, and standing areas on the bankings. The Richmond Grandstand is a reserved seat overlooking the start/finish straight and is the premium viewing spot for race finishes. If you want to guarantee a great view for those heart-stopping finales, the Grandstand is worth it.

Is there food and drink on site?

Absolutely — the Revival has an exceptional food village with everything from fish and chips to fine dining, plus plenty of period-themed refreshment stands. The VIP areas include fine dining and champagne. Expect the usual magnificent Revival excess.

Can I access the paddock?

Yes — general admission includes paddock access, which is one of the real joys of the Revival. You can get incredibly close to cars worth millions of pounds that are actually racing. It's unlike any other motorsport event in the world.
