FAQs

How do I get to Hampton Court Palace?

By far the easiest way is train from London Waterloo to Hampton Court station — it's about 35 minutes and the palace is literally a 5-minute walk across the bridge. Trains run frequently and there are late services back after the shows. Driving is possible but parking is limited and the roads around East Molesey can be busy on event nights — the train is genuinely better.

What time do the gates open and when does music start?

Gates typically open at 6:00pm, with support acts or pre-show entertainment from around 7:00pm and the headline act usually on stage at 8:00–8:30pm. Shows generally finish by 11:00pm. Check your specific night's schedule on the official festival website for exact timings.

Is there a dress code?

There's no strict dress code, but people tend to dress up a bit — it's a palace after all! Smart casual is the norm. A light jacket or wrap is strongly recommended whatever the forecast: the stone courtyards hold the evening chill beautifully for the architecture, less so for your shoulders. Heels on cobblestones is a brave choice — wedges or flats are much more practical.

What's the best pub nearby before the show?

The Mitre Hotel right next to Hampton Court Bridge is a classic pre-show spot with a lovely riverside terrace. The King's Arms on Hampton Court Road is popular with festival-goers too. If you want something a bit quieter, the Bell Inn in East Molesey is a proper local pub a short walk away. Most fill up from around 5pm on show nights so arrive early for a table.

Can I bring my own food and drink?

Outside food and drink is generally not permitted inside the festival arena. There are multiple food and drink stalls and bars inside covering everything from street food to Champagne. Expect decent quality at festival prices. If you want a proper meal first, eat before you arrive — the food options inside are more snacks and grazing than sit-down dining.

Are the tickets I'm buying genuine face-value tickets?

Yes — every ticket listed on Turnstile Exchange is sold by a real person at or below the face value they originally paid. We don't allow above-face-value listings. That said, always check the ticket type: some premium or hospitality tickets may have transfer restrictions from the original issuer, so confirm with the seller before purchasing.
