FAQs
How do I get to Chepstow Drill Hall?
The Drill Hall is right in the centre of Chepstow, about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Trains run from Bristol Parkway (25 mins) and Cardiff Central (25 mins) — GWR and Transport for Wales both serve the route. It's a lovely walk through the old town.
Is there parking nearby?
There's a car park on Bridge Street (NP16 5EZ) about 5 minutes on foot. Chepstow can get busy on festival weekends, so arriving early or taking the train is definitely recommended.
Are there good pubs near the venue?
Absolutely — the Chepstow is great for a pre-show pint, and the Boat Inn down by the river does excellent food. The Three Tuns on Bridge Street is popular with festival-goers. Most places in town are used to the Summer's End crowd by now!
What's the dress code?
There isn't one — come as you are. October in Chepstow can be chilly and damp, so layers are wise. The Drill Hall is indoors but it fills up fast; a light jacket you can tie around your waist is ideal.
What time do doors open each day?
Doors typically open around 5:30–6pm on Thursday and Sunday, and around 4:30–5pm on Friday and Saturday. Check the official Summer's End website closer to the date for the confirmed schedule.
Can I buy a day ticket or just a weekend pass?
Both are usually available. Weekend passes are the best value and tend to sell out first. Individual day tickets are released but Saturday goes quickest — snap it up if you see one on here.
