Where exactly is the Great Hall?
It's inside Cardiff University Students' Union on Park Place, right in the heart of Cathays — a 10-minute walk from Cardiff Queen Street station or 15 from Cardiff Central.
How do I get there?
Train to Cardiff Queen Street is easiest — it's a short walk up Park Place. Buses run frequently into the city centre too. Taxis and Ubers drop off right outside. Parking in Cathays on a Friday night is a nightmare, honestly just get the train.
What time do doors open?
Doors typically open around 9–10pm for events at the Great Hall — check your ticket confirmation for the exact time. VIP / Priority Entry gets you in ahead of the queue.
Is there a dress code?
Smart casual at minimum — trainers are usually fine but the door team will turn away anything too scruffy. No sportswear. When in doubt, make an effort and you'll be fine.
What are the best bars and pubs nearby beforehand?
Cathays is spoiled for choice. Gwdihŵ on Guildford Crescent is a Cardiff classic, Retro on St Mary Street if you're heading into town first, or just grab a drink at the SU itself before heading in.
