FAQs

How do I get to Alex James' Farm?

The nearest train station is Kingham on the Great Western Railway line from London Paddington — about 1 hour 20 minutes. Festival shuttle buses run between Kingham station and the site. By car, the farm is just off the B4450 near Kingham. Postcode for sat-nav: OX7 6UJ. Allow extra time on peak days — the lanes around Chipping Norton get busy.

Is there parking on site?

Yes, there's ample on-site parking but you'll need to pre-book a parking pass separately — it's not included in ticket prices. Parking typically costs around £15–£20 per car per day. Campers can usually park adjacent to the camping fields. The train + shuttle option is honestly a great shout if you want to enjoy a glass of Cotswolds rosé without worrying about the drive home.

What are the best pubs and places to eat nearby?

The Wild Rabbit in Kingham (owned by the Bamford/Daylesford family) is stunning for a pre-festival dinner. The Plough Inn at Kingham is a proper Cotswolds gastropub. For something more casual, The Fox at Oddington is a short drive away. And of course, you'll be surrounded by incredible food on site — that's rather the point!

Is there a dress code?

No formal dress code — but the Cotswolds in August can go either way. Wellies and a waterproof are non-negotiable packing essentials, no matter what the forecast says. Festival chic is very much the vibe: think Barbour meets Glastonbury. VIP Garden guests tend to dress up a bit more, especially for evening sessions.

Can I bring kids?

Absolutely — the Big Feastival is famously family-friendly. There's a dedicated kids' area with cooking workshops, entertainment, and activities all weekend. Under-3s go free, and there are reduced-price tickets for children. It's one of the most relaxed and genuinely kid-welcoming festivals in the UK.

What's the difference between General, VIP, and Glamping tickets?

General admission gets you full access to all music stages, the chef arena, food traders, and the festival site. VIP Garden adds a dedicated lounge area, premium bar, better loos, and a prime viewing spot. Glamping packages include a pre-pitched tent or bell tent on a dedicated glamping field — proper festival luxury without hauling your own gear.
